JCT 2005 - What's New?

Janey Milligan and Lisa Cattanach have recently completed a presentation to a major Scottish Local Authority on the use of the new JCT 2005 suite of contracts. The presentation provided a comparative analysis of the key JCT 2005 contracts with their 1998 versions, looking beyond alterations of style and layout by considering the changes of substance and their practical implications.

- Minor Works Building Contract
- Design and Build Contract

Raising the Profile

Janey Milligan has spoken at two major construction industry events over the summer on the key note issue of adjudication.

In May this year, Janey addressed the Conference of Construcion Specialists Annual Conference aong with other accredited industry experts as part of "The Fair Appointment of Risk" agenda promoted by the Confederation.

This theme was continued in June at a Joint Conference by The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Scottish Branch) and The Law Society of Scotland and in association with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and The Adjudication Society entitled "The Future of Commercial Dispute Resolution."
